Eric Wedge fires who?

As I read the article about Eric Wedge firing bullpen coach Luis Issac, I can't help but stand up and scream, "That is your solution to the bullpen issues?"

For all the bullpen collapses, for all the middle relief jokes, how can a bullpen coach be the issue? If there was an issue, how about Derek Shelton, the hitting coach? How about the trainer, the coach who is to keep the players in shape and healthy? How about that waste of space Jeff Datz? What does he do except look like that kid who was pushed in a locker constantly in grade school and carried that habit over into high school?

If Eric Wedge thinks that a new dynamic was needed in the bullpen and firing Isaac was the answer, he didn't see Joe Borowski, Rafael Betancourt (for the 1st half of the season), and Edward Mujica pitch.

Eric Wedge is not a good manager. Period. He does not get his team ready. He does not have the charisma to keep his team in a game. He does not manage the game well (see: Game 5 on the 2007 ALCS letting Sabathia pitch the 7th with 108 pitches), nor does his coaching staff.

Eric Wedge always say something to the effect "we need to grind through it." How about "we need to make some moves and have some fun."

I see Eric Wedge taking this mentality to his home life.
Wife:
"Eric, honey, the baby isn't feeling well. Maybe we should take him to the hospital."
Eric:
"We'll have to grind through it."
Wife:
"Honey, the car isn't starting. I think we should take into the shop."
Eric:
"We'll have to grind through it."

Eric Wedge looks like the most unhappy, depressed guy I have ever seen. Nothing seems to be fun in his life. Too bad, because I always think that if you are not having fun at your job, why do it?
